Procter and Gamble revises supply chain strategy

Wednesday, 10/6/2009 04:03
Procter and Gamble (P&G) has commended recent improvements in its supply chain strategy.

According to the consumer goods firm, its new system allows one million files to be processed within a month and is far less likely to break down.

Chuck Patterson, service manager for enterprise application integration, also noted its real-time visibility and control as two further advantages that it offers.

This, he said, means that both consumers and P&G stand to benefit.

“It’s all about getting our brands to consumers efficiently and effectively,” Mr Patterson commented.

He added that the organisation’s supply chain is highly diverse and global, which means it “crucial” that a reliable system is in place.

This comes shortly after P&G outlined its efforts to become more environmentally sustainable over the next three years.

The company said this would demonstrate its commitment to both helping the environment and improving results through innovation.
