Details of the Supply Chain Management Summit, to be held in San Francisco from April 2-3, have been revealed, offering an insight into key themes.
The main theme of the summit this year is 'Leveraging Supply Chain Processes for Market Leadership', and the importance of supply chains to companies facing the downturn has not been forgotten.
"With the current economic situation, now more than ever supply chain is a core competency that companies have to focus on for cost reduction measures as well as to improve top line revenue," explained organisers Aberdeen Group.
Reassessing a supply chain, and indeed reorganising it, can be a costly and time-consuming move, however.
Supply chain management companies can offer a great deal of help to organisations hoping to either cut costs or improve services through adapting their supply chains.
The speakers this year at the summit include supply chain executives from companies such as Coca-Cola, Cisco Systems, Intel and Sara Lee, among others.
