The Logistics Association of Australia (LAA) and Maeve Magner, director of global supply chain at the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDs Initiative (Chai), have partnered up to provide supply chain managers the chance to hear about building supply chains in the developing world.
Mr Magner will host two seminars this month entitled 'Supply Chain in the Developing World', on both March 26th and 31st.
Situated in Adelaide, Australia, the seminars will deal with how supply chains can be managed in developing countries, at a time when many organisations are more concerned than ever before about the need to act ethically.
Ethical sourcing and procurement are two areas often invested in by businesses as a result of demand from consumers, but to ensure a supply chain is performing at its best, some companies may wish to contract a third-party supply chain management company.
A statement from the LAA explained: "[Ms Magner's speech]...will provide an insight into how different approaches are required when working in the developing world and how support from the private sector can help accelerate the supply chain evolution in many of these countries."
