New warehouse contracts for Wincanton

Tuesday, 24/3/2009 03:11
Logistics company Wincanton has been awarded two new UK-based warehousing and transport contracts.

The first is a renewal of a long-term contract with HJ Heinz that means Wincanton will continue managing the company's 350,000 sq ft warehouse.

The group's second deal is a new three-year contract with Panasonic which will involve distributing Panasonic goods to UK high street retailers and independent outlets.

It is thought that the combination of both of the contracts will bring in over £100 million of turnover for Wincanton.

Wincanton chief executive Graeme McFaull said that the group is "delighted" with the new contracts.

He commented: "The scale, flexibility and efficiency of our national transport infrastructure gives Wincanton a market-leading platform for the delivery of operational and environmental benefits for our customers."

Wincanton announced earlier this month that it had been awarded a new five-year £50 million deal to operate the UK transport network of Lafarge Plasterboard Ltd.
