A new four compartment deep tyre store has been provided by SSI Schaefer, potentially giving Mercedes Harb the option of a new
supply chain strategy.
SSI Schaefer decided to opt for a 22m long, 7.5m wide supported building, tying in with the existing architecture. The new wheel store enables space-saving storage, comprising four compartments, reports Materials Handling World Magazine.
Josef and Manfred Harb, managing directors of Mercedes Harb, told the news provider: "The new wheel store meets our expectations on every level. The space utilisation is ideal and operation is exceptionally easy. This forms the basis for future-oriented wheel management."
The centre offers spare parts and accessories, repair services and car servicing, as well as a professional wheel management service.
Elsewhere, online retailer Amazon is set to launch two new sheds in Germany.
Over 1 million sq ft of space will be used to build distribution points at Koblenz and Pforzheim.
