Bradford-based Advanced Supply Chain has created more than 150 new jobs by opening a new warehouse in Corby, reports Logistics Manager

The new premises takes the firm’s total warehousing to more than one million sq ft and is its first operation based outside of Yorkshire.

The company, which works with large retailers such as Makro, Matalan, George and Debenhams, believes that the new base will help it to increase its annual turnover from £20 million to £30 million in 2012.

Chief executive Mike Danby said that operating from a Midlands base will enable the firm to be more flexible and cost effective to its clients.

He added: “It is always fantastic to open new premises, and Corby is particularly exciting because it is our first warehouse in the Midlands.”

Over the summer Advanced Supply Chain extended its business in the Far East by inking a lucrative partnership deal with Sinotrans, China’s second biggest logistics firm.
